THE STORY
Surrounded by music from a young age, with family already in the industry, Young Lawless started as a ghostwriter before stepping to the mic himself. Early recognition from Big Fase 100 and his first high-school performance turned a gift into a commitment.
His debut LP #BARFTW showcased his punchlines and storytelling — often compared to Nas — and carried “Summertime,” produced by Mustard. In 2020 “Coochie Hoochie” with YN Jay became his breakout, reaching #1 on iTunes and #18 on the Billboard hip-hop chart.
After losing his cousin, an up-and-coming artist, he promised to live for both of them. That promise runs through Psychoactive (2021), released under the A Lawless World imprint, and every record since.
“Hopefully I can reach people that's in a dark place and help bring them out of it into some light.” — Young Lawless. His goals: go platinum as an independent, win a Grammy, and build fashion alongside the music — which is exactly what A Lawless World is.
